Why does my gel polish feel thick, stringy, or goopy?Updated 3 months ago

If your gel polish feels thick, stringy, or difficult to apply, it's usually related to temperature, mixing, or storage, not the formula itself.

Cold temperatures: gel can thicken when exposed to cold - let the bottle sit at room temperature before using.

Polish needs mixing: gently roll the bottle between your hands for 30-60 seconds to evenly mix the formula. Avoid shaking, which can create bubbles and affect application.

Storage conditions: store gel polish upright with the cap tightly closed, keep at room temperature, avoid extreme heat, cold, and direct sunlight, and store away from lamps or bright light to prevent premature curing.

For the smoothest application: apply thin, even coats; let the bottle come to room temperature before use if it's been stored somewhere cold; roll the bottle before every manicure. Still feeling thick or stringy? Let the bottle sit at room temperature for a few minutes, then roll again before applying.
