How can I prevent my nails from staining?Updated 8 days ago
Some highly pigmented shades, especially deep reds and dark colors, can leave a temporary tint on the nail plate after removal. Here are ways to help reduce staining and keep nails looking bright.
- Start with clean, dry nails free of oils or lotion.
- For extra stain protection, apply a sheer coat of polish, Ridge Filler, or Nail Brightener before a highly pigmented shade.
- Use Nail Primer as part of your preparation to help create a clean, dry surface.
- Apply color in thin, even coats and allow it to dry between layers.
- After removal, moisturize your nails and cuticles with Cuticle Serum or Cuticle Oil.
- If you notice a temporary tint, Nail Brightener can help improve the appearance of the nail while it grows out.
Olive & June Long Lasting Polish is formulated with a built-in base coat, so a separate base coat is not required for regular wear. A sheer protective layer can still be helpful when wearing shades that tend to stain.
